Wine Storage

Temperature

Wine should be stored at between 10 to 14 degree Celsius.
The ideal cellar temperature would be a constant 12 degrees Celsius.
Excessive warmth will age the wine prematurely.

Humidity

Storing wine between 70-75% will ensure that the cork will not dry up.
Too much humidity will damage labels.

Quiet

The chosen storage place should be quiet and free from vibrations.

Light

Cellar must be dark, as light is harmful to the proper evolution of wine.

Smells

Cellar should not contain anything that has a strong smell (kerosene, onions) as these smells could be imparted to the wine.

Organisation

Red wine on top so as to protect the whites below from eventual light.
The wines are stored horizontally to ensure that the corks do not dry up.
